Houle presents his
first album Ciel Cendre Et Misère Noire
via Les Acteurs De L’Ombre., From
the introduction a sea shanty ( in French ) sprinkled with oceanic sounds
immediately immerses the listener in the universe of the coastal black metal
group but surrounding this point their style is very far to call it black metal
I would say extreme melodic metal see the title Mère Nocturne because some melodies are pretty but not too much and
it reminds me of modern metal a little. La
Danse Du Rocher follows with a catchy and dynamic riff and a shrill cry
from singer Adsagona (appear
imperiously aggressive and really attractive voice which does not go
unnoticed). Throughout the listen, variations in tempo and with slow and sung
bridges almost told in a clear voice energize a whole, otherwise, sometimes a
little useless and boring when the tempo drops suddenly, while soaring
instrumentals come to conclude the songs, like the calm after the storm by
establishing an almost venomous climate, particularly expressive and intense.
The titles follow one another fluidly, supported by lyrics on the theme of the album or rather the theme of a difficult and dark life at sea, both for sailors and for those who await them on land. The interlude And Puis Le Silence, with ambient underwater sounds
on Sel, Sang Et Gerçures and
contrasts with the high-pitched, wild, old-fashioned scream. The journey ends
with the Née Des Embruns technique:
rhythms follow one another, blast beats supported by melodic guitars. Crises
and laments are heard, without doubt about Houle's promising future, songs to pay attention La Danse Du Rocher, Derrière l'Horizon , Sel, Sang Et Gerçures ……now you can add this album to your collection.
