Interview with Gorebringer

Gorebringer is an oldschool melodic death metal band formed in London UK. The bandwas formed in 2017 by the current members;Kaz “Stench”B (guitars/bass) and Serpent(Vocals).

1-First of all, thank you for taking part in this interview and congratulation for your new album Condemned to Suffer, I just wanted to ask a bit about the origins of the band., since 2017. How was the songwriting process divided across the course of all these years, was it spread out or product of a very short time frame when time allowed it?

Hello, thank you very much for the interview. We are excited that our new album will be released on October 18th. Composing is actually developing quickly. I can say that the first album composing and recording process was very short. The compositions for the second album were started right after the first album was released and were completed in about 1.5 years. The third album took longer, this album is longer and more technical, and at the same time dark and moody, so it didn't take long to write :)

2- What do you think of the worldwide metal and extreme scene today?

I think there are great new bands coming out every day and they are all very good. I think metal music is on the rise, solid albums are coming out every week, and the old bands are continuing and putting out great albums.

3-what can you tell us about the official video Ant, is it a preview promoting of your recent album Terrified Beyond Measure?

no, Ants is from my 3rd album "Condemned to Suffer".

4-Whats your mainly inspiration to compose and How do you write your music? Is there a set guideline or do you write what you feel as you go along?

In the composition process, what actually affects us are the conditions we are in. If we give an example from the last album, it was an accumulation of what we have experienced in the last 5 years. We reflected everything we felt, such as hatred, sadness, anger, etc., into our music. We make melodic death metal, but in the last album, we were going through such shitty times that we added black metal elements to our music in order to make darker compositions.

5-How is the metal scene and community in London and in the UK?

It's absolutely amazing. Even though we haven't been able to attend many shows lately, we know they are great bands.

6-what can you tell us about your previous album a Craving ForFlesh and Terrified Beyond Measure?

Craving For Flesh is our first album, the general concept is more of a horror comedy type slasher event :) less technical but melodic and old school death metal, there are grindcore parts here and there. Terrified Beyond Measure is a more melodic album, we composed and recorded under difficult conditions during the pandemic.

7-Recently you released a single Ants in 2024 from your new album Condemned to Suffer via Great Dane Records so can you tell us about the inspiration behind the album concept and influences?

Condemned to Suffer is the darkest album we've made. There are personal songs and songs that tell horror stories. Ants is one of them. We didn't use any concepts in the album in general.

Comdemned to Suffer was recorded in Croydon UK and mixed by London-based Tide Music Studios. This is our 3rd album, the most personal so far, as no guest musicians participated during recording and lyrics are more mature and complex, mostly reflecting different struggles that we’ve overcomed in the past 5 years as a band. In the melodic death metal genre, we like to add black metal elements to the mix as well to make the music sound a bit darker and intense. We’ve been influenced mostly by death metal pioneers from 90’s but there are also modern elements in our music

8- Are you satisfy with your label and witch label fit to your music?

At the moment we are delighted to be working with Great Dane Records.

9-What can you tell us about your line up, and will you introduce other members?

We formed the band as Kaz “Stench”B(guitars/bass) and Serpent(Vocals)

we are currently 2 people, we worked with other musicians on our first 2 albums. (Krzysztof Klingbein etc.) But there are no guest musicians on the last album. We are now 2 people and it is going very well like this.

10- your style is melodic death but you have influences and themes that belong to brutal death because melodic is a little softer and heavier compared to what you play and the design of your album covers it’s contained some gore, slaughter and maggots how do you explain that?

We were originally founded as a grindcore band and recorded 2 songs. Later on, we started to make more melodic compositions, but fast and hard compositions emerged. Guitar solos are present in our songs, but we also add brutal metal to the songs.Since we love brutal death metal, we were naturally influenced by this. I guess we can call this genre melodic death metal on steroids :)

11-Any fav bands to get on stage with? Are there any upcoming tour, videos, or other projects?  What are the immediate plans for the band after having released Condemned to Suffer?

We would definitely like to play with At the Gates and Carcass.

After our 3rd album comes out, we will be promoting it. We plan to play shows if we complete our lineup to play live. We have plans for another music video, but not yet.

12- What is the biggest change compared to the debut?

First of all, I can say that our songs have become more technical and dark. There is a lot of black metal influence in our songs right now. We have evolved into a more pessimistic and melodic style and the lyrics do not contain as much gore as before.

13-To conclude, if you have any closing thoughts you want to say about the record the next of Gorebringer, band or melodic death metal at large

Thank you very much for the interview. Our new album will be released on October 18th, we worked very hard for this album, the most personal so far, I hope you like it. Hails to all!!
