That's always a
pleasure to find a purist band of absolute adherence to traditional rules or
structures of death metal because for nowadays we are invaded with ridiculous
substandard styles of modern metal with their clinical album accomplished by
some digital programs and some processing tools, several virtual gear and
equipment in any case they use cutting-edge technology to release an unnatural
album.
Fortunately, Unholy Redeemer (international band Australia/Denmark/Finland) release
a pure blast of doomed brutal, old-school death metal Journey Beyond Death via Extremely Rotten Productions
First preview of Journey Beyond Death is its absolute
fidelity to the standards of the late 80s and early 90s. The project does not
seek to reinvent the wheel, but rather to arm it with razor-sharp spikes. The
atmosphere is dank and heavy like a nightmare, driven by a production that is
both organic and massive with riffs and a rhythm section of crushing intensity.
Demonic, cavernous vocals crawl through the tracks, heightening a decidedly
macabre and suffocating atmosphere and vocal
I don't know how the band
do for for collaboration and coordination considering the geographical distance
separating the members, the cooperation is perfect. You can feel the experience
of veterans who know exactly how to structure tracks, alternating between
devastating bursts of speed and dense, slow passages tempo changes bordering on
death-doom (there is doomed touch in the album)
About the tracks to
pays attention Journey Beyond Death The
ideal and the perfect introduction that sets the scene a lightless abyss, the begining
of the nightmare, violent and raw.
Blazing Grave Cathedrals is heavier and doomed
Overall, Journey Beyond Death is a dark, occult,
and beautifully oppressive album, technically old-school and free of modern
frills, as it needs none. It features an organic yet flawless production that
delivers a heavy, textured sound, paying homage to genre classics in the vein
of Morbid Angel, Incantation, or Krypts, without forgetting the artwork cover of the EP album
who is very fit which perfectly illustrates the band's macabre world
We must thank Unholy Redeemer for their great work, big fucking horns up and don't forget to add Journey Beyond Death to your collection.
